Contemporary Wildlife Artist Specializing in Birds
I have been an artist for as long is I can remember, and most of that time has been spent living on Block Island with my family. My work has always been inspired by the natural beauty of the world around us.
I enjoy incorporating the many styles that have influenced me over the years as a contemporary artist in my work.Over the last 7 years I have felt compelled to paint birds.I feel drawn to express the unique beauty of shorebirds and waterfowl in particular. Living on an island off the coast of New England, I find myself amidst the Atlantic flyway for many migratory birds.Block Island has 17 miles of shoreline and over 300 fresh water ponds and coastal wetlands making it home to many bird species including the Piping Plover.
Through my work I hope to share, celebrate and promote a special appreciation for birds.
Over the last three years my bird art has been awarded internationally and chosen to be shown at the 42nd Bird in Art exhibition 2017, an international competition for bird art at the Woodson Art Museum.
